An impressive new web tool from Google lets you map oblique photos to simple geometries. The results are fairly convincing from afar and would make great context buildings for our 3D models - especially when used in Google Earth.
You have to share your models with the world, but I think that's a small price to pay given that you also get to use models that others produce. The software seems to be based on Canoma (an old favorite that was discontinued years ago), and, though its not quite as sophisticated in terms of the tools it provides, it is nice that you get pre-matched images to use.
Its unfortunate that coverage is limited to only a handful of cities at this point (and does not include Boston).
